(DELAYED) Server Move Incoming Saturday Febuary 18th.

DELAYED -- Apparently the isp has delayed the install, and thus the server move will be delayed. Most likely next week.

My brother-in-law just let me know that he wants to do the move on Saturday, so with any luck the server will only be down on Saturday, and should even be available by late afternoon Saturday.

Another Server Move Coming Soon

Well, the server has been living at my brother-in-law's house now for about 8 months, and things have been running pretty well, since I got the memory issues solved.

Now comes time for another server move, as this time we will be moving his servers, and mine to a new location where we will have much higher bandwidth, and I should have an easier time of getting physical access to the machine. As for when, I'm not sure, but he told me I'd get about a week's notice before the move, and the last time I talked to him, he was looking at doing the move within a couple weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Server Move Incoming (Date Set)

I'm scheduling some server downtime for the weekend of May 28, 29. I will be moving the server to a new location and should be up and running as of the evening on May 28th, however it may take at least 24 hours for the IP address change to propagate. Hopefully everything will go well, and we'll all be up and running again in no time.

Server Move Incoming

Just letting everyone know that there will be a server move coming within the next 2 months. My wife and I have just bought an acreage and thus I will be moving. I haven't figured where I will be hosting this server yet, but when I do I'll try to announce the downtime a few days in advance. The one downside is that hosting costs will probably rise. but I'll still do my best to keep the Knights up and running.

Hacking Attempts

Towards the end of August I had a rash of people attempting to hack this server. I've been banning those IP addresses, and most of them seem to be coming from the Far East. In Semptember, it died down, however this past week it's picked up again, to a whole new level... a couple hundred attempts each day. Again I'm banning the IP addresses, however I've now stepped up, and am banning 256 addresses surrounding the one that attempted to get in. For those that understand IP lingo banning 192.168.1.0/24 instead of just banning 192.168.1.58 if that's the one that tried to get in. So noone with the first 3 sets of digits will be able to access the site.

If someone tells you they're having trouble accessing the site, ask them to, in windows, go to a command prompt and run 'ipconfig' and give you their IP address. Please pass it along, and I'll check if it's one that's been banned. I don't want to keep people out of the site, but I don't want someone to hack into the server either.

Roster and editing Characters

Some of you may have noticed over the last couple weeks that you couldn't edit your characters, add new ones, or look at the roster. We have been trying to upgrade the module for the roster and character edit to allow for the Berserker class as an option to select. As you can guess we ran into a few problems. Now some of them are fixed, but at present please don't update your characters yet there seems to still be a problem with that.

Ok, I'm tired of waiting for someone to notice, the "Add Screenshot" functionality has been up for a week now and not one comment. Thought the change in picture on the front page would be an indication.

To add screenshots, you must be logged in, and then go to the "View More Screenshots" link under the Lastest Screenshot heading on the main page. At the top of that page is an "Add Screenshot" link. Click it, and you're away. Currently only supports JPEG images, and editing is unavailable right now, but that's a feature that is planned.

Sorry for the delay in getting this done, but I didn't want to just post a hack, although that is what I wound up doing anyways.

RAID!!!!!

Greetings Fellow Knights. I have spent great effort in completing most of my Epic. I have come to the fork in my path that leads me into great peril.
On Friday, March 5th, 2004 at 7pm EST I will be leading a raid in the City of Mist, in an effort to collect a Jade Reaver. Levels 46 or over please. We will be gathering at the Citys' Entrance in Emerald Jungle. Join channel Ranjadown for all raid questions answered to the best of my ability when I am logged on. For those who dont know Reavers will spawn instantly after killing one, and will continue for multiple spawns. (5, I've been told)
Battles should be long and hard and only the most sturdy (or crazy) should attend. Loot will be distributed during off battle times NBG (Need Before Greed),CAWU (Can And Will Use) rules will be applied.
Reavers location is also the spawn area for several different Epic drops and I will be entertaining requests for those Items above and beyond the loot rules due to the fact I had to cut a deal with another guild to ensure participation. (I apologize for this inconsistancy my friends but Jade Reaver is a very RARE drop and I'm going to need muscle for a long while in hopes that this will be the only City of Mist Raid I Host)
I will do everything in my power to ensure it is fairly even distribute.
*Please note I have not yet secured a Lock Picker and do not have the key yet. I will be grouping in the City as soon as I am able to try to get a key. If any have a rogue/bard/druid with exceptional Lock Picking Skill please log them and attend. As I hear this raid is next to impossible without one or the other.
Safe Journeys. May Tunare Shine upon ye.
- Pathfinder Winuven Windrunner

New Senior Druid Joining Knights of The Silver Dragon

Teaddar Travelfar, a level 58 Half-Elf Druid who has wandered the World of Norrath in the time when only the home 3 continents were known (before any expansions were made to EQ) has returned to Norrath after an absence of many Months.

Released by his previous Guild because his long absence, Teaddar will be joining the Knights as soon as he completes the Guild Joining Ritual under the eyes of a Guild Officer..

Teaddar has completed the Druid Epic and wields the Nature Walker's Scimitar as a Sign with his ties to the Forces of Nature and the Goddess, Tunare.

Teaddar is proud of his Spell Skills allowing use of the many Druid Circles scattered around Norrath. He is always willing to teleport Guild Members, though if he has pledged himself as a member of adventure group, he may not be free to come when a Guild member asks.

Though Teaddar uses the PoP system of Transport Stones, he feels the revelation of their existence, reduced the prestige and power of the Druids and Wizards who have worked hard to master their respective forms of teleportation.

Teaddar has mastered many Tradeskills and is willing to use them to aid his Guild Members..

Teaddar Travelfar is hoping to prove himself worthy of being afforded the honor of joining the Knights of the Silver Dragon.
